The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four engine pulls even more strongly in the low-to-mid rpm range—which riders will notice immediately and use often—while the high rpm performance remains robust to deliver all-around improved engine power feel and response.
The dual-direction Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) is now even easier and more fun to use, offering smoother shifting when accelerating and decelerating. It now functions from a lower minimum rpm, facilitating slower-speed gear shifts, and improving ride feel when riding at a more relaxed pace.
Several supersport-style components contribute to the Ninja 1100SX’s sport-riding potential. Centred around an aluminium frame, an inverted front fork and Horizontal Backlink rear suspension are complemented by a supersport-style brake package, including triple brake discs, radial-mount monobloc callipers and a radial-pump front brake master cylinder.
The Ninja 1100SX’s highly rigid aluminium frame offers a high degree of mass centralisation, offering a balance of agility and firm handling. The bike responds quickly to rider input while offering an excellent ability to soak up bumps and ruts. Highly composed, superb straight-line stability, and its planted feeling in corners make it easy to spend long hours in the saddle.
Supersport-style full-fairing bodywork gives the Ninja 1100SX a distinct, head-turning look. The sleek styling also offers a good measure of wind protection, facilitating short touring runs.
The wind protection afforded by the full-fairing bodywork is complemented by a windscreen with four available positions. Conveniently, the windscreen is adjustable by hand (without tools).
Offering both control and comfort, relaxed riding position was designed to accommodate everything from city riding to touring to sport riding. This blend of comfort and control allows the rider to enjoy a variety of riding situations. Weight added to the insides of the handlebars, complemented by heavier bar ends, helps reduce vibration for a more comfortable ride.
The Ninja 1100SX achieves both an increase in engine power and improved fuel economy at the same time thanks to revised engine components, longer 5th and 6th gears, and a lower rev limit. The longer 5th and 6th gears allow riders to cruise at a lower rpm on the expressway, adding to touring comfort.
Kawasaki’s cruise control system allows a desired speed to be maintained with the simple press of a button.
A USB Type-C socket is now mounted on the left handlebar, offering riders a convenient power source.
Using the latest evolution of Kawasaki’s advanced modelling software and feedback from a compact IMU, KCMF monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner – from entry, through the apex, to corner exit – modulating brake force and engine power to facilitate smooth transition from acceleration to braking and back again.
Three modes cover a wide range of riding conditions, offering either enhanced sport riding performance or enabling riders to negotiate low-traction surfaces with confidence.
Kawasaki's KCMF uses advanced modelling software and an IMU to monitor engine and chassis parameters, modulating brake force and engine power for smooth corner transitions.
Integrated riding modes link Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and Power Modes to offer varying traction control and power delivery settings to suit different riding conditions. Sport mode enables sporty riding on winding roads. Road mode offers comfortable riding over a wide range of conditions. Rain mode delivers reassurance over wet surfaces.
The compact 4.3” all-digital TFT (thin-film transistor) colour instrumentation gives the cockpit a high-tech appearance. The screen’s background colour is selectable (black or white), and screen brightness adjusts automatically to suit available light.
Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP,” several instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycle experience. The new version of the smartphone app now offers the ability for riders to control the app with voice commands*, which allows them to adjust motorcycle settings, set GPS routes and more orally.
