Yamaha's 690cc parallel-twin engine is updated for the new Ténéré 700, which features YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle), which allows switchable throttle maps, Sport and Explorer, and different power delivery.
Inspired by Yamaha’s rally raid bikes, the 2025 Ténéré 700 has a new look and improved ergonomics for road and off-road riding. The fuel tank is now moved forward, promoting better balance and handling.
The front forks are fully adjustable with 15mm preload accessible on top of each fork leg. Compression and rebound damping can be adjusted by turning screws on both ends. These race-developed inverted forks have 43mm tubes, providing 210mm of travel and 240mm ground clearance for tough terrain.
The new Ténéré 700 features a stylish 6. 3-inch full-color TFT dashboard. It allows easy smartphone connection for phone calls, messages, music, and navigation through the MyRide app, all controlled by left-hand switchgear.
The Ténéré 700 features a rally-bred link-type rear suspension system with a lightweight aluminium swingarm, providing 200mm of travel and a remote adjuster for quick preload settings tuning.
Giving the Ténéré 700 rider ultimate control in an off-road environment, the traction control and ABS systems may be switched off to hand over manual control on loose surfaces. The TCS has two settings, on and off, and can be deselected via the menu on the TFT dashboard, while a large button at the side of the dash can be used to control the ABS settings.
The main frame is made of strong high tensile steel pipe, allowing for thinner materials and a lighter machine. The downpipes and aluminium engine guard protect the sump from damage, and the subframe supports luggage options from Genuine Yamaha Accessories.
A new headlamp design has four LED units stacked in an aluminium structure, inspired by Yamaha’s rally racers, with a unique ‘Y’ shaped mount. New colour-matched handguards enhance the Ténéré 700’s off-road look and provide rider protection from the elements.
Revised rear suspension offers smooth, stable rides on and off the road, with easy adjustments for preload, compression, and rebound damping. It features a new design that improves suspension stroke while maintaining the same 200mm wheel travel as the previous Ténéré 700.
Another important touchpoint of the Ténéré 700 has also been upgraded for the 2025 model with new, larger footrests coming as standard. First seen on the Ténéré 700 World Raid, the new footpegs are 10mm wider than those found on the previous model and help the rider make steering inputs through the footpegs when riding on loose surfaces.
Yamaha’s MyRide app is free for Ténéré 700 riders and enhances their riding experience. It tracks routes, allows users to share stories and pictures, and reviews riding statistics. It also connects to the bike for incoming calls and message notifications and turn-by-turn navigation.
