The YZ125 represents a significant evolution in Yamaha’s two-stroke lineage. Yamaha engineers devoted considerable thought to creating a motorcycle that would excel on the racetrack and also be user-friendly for aspiring riders seeking to transition from recreational riding to competitive motocross.
The advanced liquid-cooled 125cc two-stroke engine provides impressive acceleration and thrilling mid- to high-rpm power, along with supreme usability. The lightweight finely-tuned chassis means nimble handling, more control, and less rider fatigue. It's the ideal platform for advancing skills and gaining confidence.
The liquid-cooled 125cc two-stroke engine of Yamaha is highly advanced and offers impressive acceleration. It also provides thrilling mid- to high-rpm power, making it supremely easy to use.
A close-ratio six-speed transmission has a wider transmission gear tooth width and optimised gear ratios for maximum performance.
Yamaha’s SSS (Speed Sensitive System) KYB front forks are widely regarded as being amongst the best designs available on a production motocross bike, and the YZ125 features low-speed damping settings on both the front and rear suspension systems for better handling characteristics. Tool-free compression adjustment now features on top of each fork leg.
Race-proven, highly developed aluminium semi-double-cradle frame is engineered to provide just the right amount of strength and flex for the perfect balance of stability and cornering performance. The removable aluminium rear subframe is constructed of square-section tubing for reduced weight.
The high-performance braking system features a 270mm front rotor, a 240mm rear rotor, large front pistons and rigid calipers, all combining to provide exceptional braking power and feel.
Complete with an aluminium handlebar, two-position adjustable handlebar clamp, wide footpegs, gripper seat, adjustable clutch lever with works-style cable adjuster and lightweight rear sprocket design, the YZ125 is competition-ready straight out of the crate.
High-precision Hitachi Astemo® Keihin PWK38S carburettor features a power jet, throttle position sensor and 3D-map-controlled CDI unit for precise ignition timing. The result is clean, crisp throttle response, superior rideability and excellent over-rev character.
