NEXT LEVEL RIDING

Elevate your ride with the brand-new and unique Honda E-Clutch technology. Whether you’re starting from a stop, shifting gears, or coming to a stop, all you need to do is operate the gear lever. E-Clutch does the rest smoothly, instantly, and at any time—like a pro. It makes corner carving more thrilling and navigating the city streets stress-free. You can if you need to use the clutch manually at any time. The choice is yours. The Honda E-Clutch offers a real performance advantage; it’s exciting and fun at any stage of your riding journey.

The new 2024 CB650R is the first Honda motorcycle to launch with E-Clutch technology.

Honda E-Clutch

The Honda E-Clutch opens up new possibilities of riding, from beginner rider to seasoned expert. It takes elements of the technology and performance of quickshifters, manually operated clutches, and Honda’s unique Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology to create a unique blend of these well-proven approaches.

Transmission

Clutch control uses an actuator unit like Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission. To change gears, use the throttle and shift lever. You can manually use the clutch lever if needed, and the E-Clutch technology will resume after a few seconds. To turn off the E-Clutch completely, use the 4-way left-hand backlit toggle switch.

Clutchless Shift Operation

This is where the real excitement starts. Silky-smooth expert level shifting control, up and down the gearbox without clutch operation, leaving you to enjoy the pleasure of riding and concentrate on what’s ahead.

Convenience and Focus

With less to think about and physically do, riding with Honda E-Clutch means focusing more on the ride and your surroundings. Gear changes using just the shift lever are effortless and controlled, all so you can concentrate on the next corner, and the one after that.

Use a manual clutch at any time

The clutch lever can be operated manually. Simply use the clutch lever any time for momentary manual control or select OFF by using the 4-way left-hand backlit toggle switch when the bike is stationary and in neutral.
