The intake valves are now narrower and smaller, improving cylinder filling and combustion for better performance. The injector has been repositioned for further enhancements. Additionally, a longer header pipe increases torque, and the first gear has been lengthened based on AMA Supercross feedback.
Quick engine restarts are crucial during races. Electric start simplifies the process with the push of a button.
Hydraulic clutch provides a direct feel and light lever action with consistent control, thanks to coned-disc springs that offer a wider engagement range.
The ECU is made for off-road riding and has multiple programmable engine maps for better performance. With DFI couplers, riders can easily switch between the three maps to adapt to changing conditions. The maps can be reprogrammed using the KX FI Calibration Kit.
Factory racer-style launch control system increases the chance of getting a good start by helping riders maximise grip when starting on a low-traction surface.
The KX450-based frame (an evolution of the current design) and KX450 swingarm offer improved handling and increased rear wheel traction while contributing to the KX250’s slim ergonomics.
Improved front-end feedback enhances cornering stability, while the revised rear suspension improves acceleration on the corner exit.
The large 270mm front disc provides strong brake force and excellent controllability. The front master cylinder of the KX450 enhances control and feedback from the front brake.
Dunlop MX33 tyres offer increased traction to match the engine’s increased power, while a wider 110/90-19 rear tyre (previously 100/90-19) contributes to increased rear wheel traction as well as a greater planted feeling.
KX450-style bodywork features long, smooth surfaces and a flatter tank-seat line designed to facilitate rider movement and control.
The motorcycle offers four handlebar positions and two footpeg positions, allowing riders to customize their riding position. The bike has a Renthal aluminium Fatbar that helps reduce vibration and shocks. The rider can adjust the grip position to make it easier to weigh the front wheel.
The revised footpeg design is 5mm wider (front-to-rear) and positioned 3mm rearward, offering excellent grip, and superb feel, and making it easier to weigh the pegs. Aluminium brackets contribute to weight reduction.
