The bike's compact and agile chassis ensures precise handling, while the redesigned riding position offers an immersive experience in the Hyper Naked range. Advanced technology enhances the riding experience with lean-sensitive rider aids, customizable riding modes, and a new full-colour TFT dashboard with smartphone connectivity and navigation.

889cc CP3 engine

The powerful, lightweight, liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine delivers high torque at low rpm, producing a distinctive roar that enhances the acceleration experience. Optimized fuel injectors and refined A&S (assist and slipper) clutch complement the engine's output, along with improved gear ratios for greater efficiency.

Die-cast aluminium Deltabox

6-axis IMU

The compact six-axis IMU, derived from the R1, manages the MT-09’s advanced rider aids, including three-mode Traction Control (TCS), Slide Control (SCS), front wheel Lift Control (LIF), and Brake Control. It now includes a Back Slip Regulator (BSR) for stabilization when the rear wheel locks during heavy braking by controlling torque levels.

5in TFT display with Connectivity

The full-colour 5-inch TFT instruments offer four themes for different riding situations, easily switched using new handlebar controls. You can connect your smartphone via the Y-Connect app for message notifications, calls, and music playback. Full map navigation is available through the Garmin StreetCross app to simplify your journeys.

Customisable Ride Modes

You can customize your riding experience with Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) settings to choose engine power and electronic intervention levels based on your preferences and road conditions. There are three preset modes (SPORT, STREET, RAIN) and you can create two custom programs. You can adjust YRC settings on the dashboard or through the Y-Connect app on your smartphone.

Brembo Master Cylinder

In order to match the MT-09’s high torque and acceleration, excellent stopping power is provided by a Brembo radial master cylinder, which produces a linear supply of pressure to the four-piston calipers, mounted to the dual 298mm front discs and offers outstanding braking performance with finger-tip control.

Cruise Control

The new MT-09 has electronic rider aids and cruise control for a more relaxing ride on motorways. It works in third gear and above, adjustable in 1 km/h increments with a button push or by holding it down. The system is deactivated when brakes, clutch, or throttle are used.
