Based on the YZ250F, which won a championship, this bike's lightweight, compact chassis provides better handling feel and agility in tight, technical terrain. It also has better ergonomics and a more comfortable riding position, which reduces fatigue over longer distances.
The YZ250FX is prepared for enduro and cross-country competitions right out of the box thanks to Yamaha's ground-breaking front-intake, rear-exhaust, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-stroke power plant and a wide ratio six-speed transmission for improved cross-country performance.
The sophisticated 250cc four-stroke engine has a forward-positioned intake cylinder head layout, aggressive cam profiles, and a high-spec piston for a wide, practical powerband. Through an efficient down-draft intake path, engine performance is further improved at mid- to high rpm.
For the ideal balance of stability and cornering performance, the bilateral beam frame, which is based on the competition-tested YZ250F, offers precisely the right amount of strength and flex. The result is a more capable handling machine that feels lighter and has more front wheel traction, giving the rider more line choices and the confidence to turn corners.
With a slim, flat, compact body that makes for a razor-thin feel and effortless body movement when shifting weight forward and back, ergonomics are optimised. With enough room between the seat and footpegs, the rider triangle is roomy.
Even more user-friendly is the Yamaha Power Tuner App, which boasts an easy-to-use Simple Tuning slide bar, useful engine and suspension tuning guides, and extra features like a three-level selectable Traction Control System that allows the app to maintain optimal rear wheel traction.
Yamaha’s class leading KYB suspension ensures maximum control and traction. Updated KYB® coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping that can be fully adjusted now has a hand-adjustable knob for toolless compression adjustment.
The YZ250FX is prepared to win right out of the box thanks to its strong plastic skid plate, 18-inch rear wheel, electric starting system, 7.95L fuel tank, and XC racing tyres.
