The careful computer-aided design of each wheel’s cross-sectional profile shaves weight without sacrificing durability. The YZ450F's rear wheel comes laced with a three-cross-spoke pattern for improved impact absorption and rider feel.
Revised KYB suspension including updated rear linkage and new settings front and rear. The rear shock lever ratio and spring rate are revised for added traction and stability, with new delta-shaped piston shims in the fork for enhanced stability and traction. The front fork also features tool-free compression clickers for easy adjustment.
The optimised intake path draws air from under the side covers and seat, allowing for a lighter, slimmer, and more compact shroud area. This redesign allows the airbox cover to be lower and narrower and the radiator shrouds to be slimmer.
This bike has a 270-mm front brake rotor and a Nissin calliper, which provide excellent braking performance. Additionally, the rear brake has been enhanced by lowering the rigidity of the brake hose, giving the rider greater control over the pedal.
The tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, which lifts the centre shaft, creating a triangle shape between the crank, drive shaft, and main shaft. This design results in a lighter and more compact transmission.
The YZ450F boasts a wide range of top-spec details including aluminium tapered handlebars, compact PVC handlebar pad, lightweight throttle cable, wide footpegs with lightweight aluminium alloy brackets, a quick-adjust clutch perch and a seamless seat.
