Not the boot for you if you have cankles. Also the lack of any other closure other than a zip makes me wonder about longevity whether you are large ankled or not. The laces are decorative. Perhaps most disappointing is that the boot appears to be reflecting white with an orangey brown coloured stripe in both electric and natural light rather than various shades of silver and grey like the picture. I do like the look of other sneaker-like bike boots but most have white soles which get grubby. Opted for this boot for its black sole and what seemed to be layers of grey shades. Other than that the boot is fast to throw on especially if your ankles are normal sized and the fit around the foot is snug and comfy. It's a solidly made boot. I'm debating on returning because of the colour difference and that my ankles are mostly muscle so I can't exactly lose enough circumference to close the zipper properly. For the price I might look at a different shoe.
