M1-Derived Technology

Yamaha's YZF-R1M is a high-spec, exclusive supersport model with a distinctive colour scheme, polished aluminium swingarm, full carbon fibre bodywork, carbon fibre winglets, and an engraved, serial-numbered badge for exclusivity.

The R1M offers advanced performance with its powerful 998cc CP4 crossplane engine, comprehensive electronics suite, and lightweight aluminium Deltabox frame, which are also found on the standard R1. The addition of sophisticated Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) takes its capability to an even higher level. The ERS simplifies suspension tuning by providing dynamic tuning modes for both street and track, as well as manual modes for conventional suspension tuning.

998cc CP4 Engine

The 998cc engine, developed using M1 MotoGP technology, features Bosch injectors for increased efficiency and specially designed finger-follower rocker arms and cam lobes for outstanding high-rpm performance. This EU5 crossplane engine also includes a high-efficiency lubrication system for optimum performance.

Advanced Bodywork

The YZF-R1M has a factory-bike look inspired by the Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike. The front cowl and screen are aggressive and give a low frontal area for minimal drag. The integrated fairing flows seamlessly into the fuel tank sides to give a tight tuck-in position for efficient aerodynamics.

Brake Control System

Technology is transforming the way we ride, and the YZF-R1M features no fewer than seven electronic control systems. Featuring two modes, the Brake Control (BC) system analyses data such as lean angle and slipping acceleration and modulates hydraulic brake pressure to prevent wheel lockups.

Engine Brake Management

When you're on the track, the Engine Brake Management (EBM) system lets you adjust engine braking force using data from sensors. It offers three engine braking modes for different riding situations.

Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension

The Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) is the most advanced suspension system available on a production Yamaha. It enables more efficient cornering, braking, and acceleration through advanced software and a user-friendly interface for rapid suspension setting changes.

Communication Control Unit

The Communication Control Unit (CCU) enables checks of machine information and simplifies the setting process to enhance the instrument panel's function as a rider-machine interface. It includes a GPS antenna and data logger for recording running data, and can also automatically record lap times on a circuit course.

Quick Shift System

The YZF-R1M also comes equipped with a new Quick Shift System that allows for faster gear changing. This system instantly cancels drive torque when an upshift is detected, enabling full-throttle clutchless upshifts for outstanding acceleration through the close-ratio 6-speed transmission.

slide-wrap-7

6-Axis IMU

The 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) includes a gyro sensor for measuring pitch, roll, and yaw, and a G-sensor for measuring acceleration in different directions. This technology enables various rider aids such as lean-sensitive Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel lift control system (LIF), and Brake Control system (BC).

LED Headlights

New lightweight, compact LED twin headlights for both the low and high beam, combined with the redesigned body styling to create a new front face symbolizing the next-generation of R-Series design.

Accelerator Position Sensor

The Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) is activated by a high-tech twist grip assembly that provides precise and natural control. The lightweight ride-by-wire APSG (Accelerator Position Sensor Grip) twist grip offers instant throttle response.
